We hold three Services each Sunday. We serve tea, coffee and cold drinks after the 10.00am service, offering the opportunity for people to chat and get to know each other.
We encourage and organise our worship in a variety of ways. We try to include traditional and contemporary elements and, whilst incorporating different styles, our over-riding aim is to help people gain a closer and more fulfilling relationship with God. Our services attract people from different backgrounds, with different experiences and with a wide age-range and our aim is to assist all in drawing closer to God.
Communion is central to the life and work of St Mary’s Church and features, at different times, in all three Sunday services. We warmly invite all those attending our services to take communion with us should that be their normal practice in their own church. Should attendees feel uncomfortable taking communion, they are welcome to remain seated during the time communion is offered, or to come to the communion rail for a short prayer.
Holy Communion - 8.00am
This is a quieter and more reflective Service following a more traditional pattern of worship.
Morning Service - 10.00am
This Service may take the form of an All-Stage Worship Service, Morning Prayer or a Holy Communion Service. In addition to a mix of worship styles, we incorporate reports from link missionaries and mission organisations, news of ministries based at St Mary’s, prayer, quiet reflection, preaching and teaching.
Our All-Stage Service is aimed at everyone, regardless of age or where they are in their Christian journey. It's an opportunity for adults and children to participate in intergenerational worship, learning together and experiencing the promises, power and presence of God.
Evening Service - 5pm
Celtic Prayer held on the fourth Sunday in the month from March to October followed by refreshments.
